If you wish to work as a teacher in post-16 education, such as adult learning, further education, or higher education, a formal Level 3 teaching qualification is required. This qualification, which replaced the PTLLS on 1st October 2013, is a widely recognised AET qualification for those entering or already working in teaching and training roles.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET course) is designed to meet the minimum government threshold status for post-16 education. Whether you are new to teaching or looking to formalize your experience, this qualification is the ideal starting point. It also acts as a stepping stone for further development, progressing to the Level 4 Certificate or the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (previously known as the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training).
By completing the Level 3 Award in Education and Training online, you will receive a nationally recognised and accredited qualification from FutureQuals.
The AET teaching qualification offers flexibility, with full access to an online learning system, your tutor, and 24/7 learning resources. You will be able to complete assignments, engage in tutorials, and gain support from your tutor at any time.
